PHILOSOPHY

Joan Salge Blake is a Clinical Assistant Professor at Boston University and was awarded the prestigious Whitney Powers Excellence in Teaching Award from the University. Joan was previously awarded both the American Dietetic Association (ADA) Young Registered Dietitian and 2007 Outstanding Dietetic Educator.

Joan is a member of the ABC News Medical Expert Network, a group of resource and on-camera experts for the ABC News Network. She is also an ADA Media Spokesperson conducting over 150 media interviews annually. She has been quoted in or written for the Food Network, Newsweek, Boston Globe, Boston Herald, LA Times, Forbes.com, ABC.com, Chicago Tribune, Business Traveler, US World News, Parade, Newsday, Time, Readers Digest, the Boston Phoenix, Patriot Ledger, Cooking Light, Details, Fitness, Shape, Self, Weight Watchers, Woman’s World, Health, Redbook, Family Circle, All You, and Parents magazines. Joan is the author of Eat Right The E.A.S.Y. Way, Prentice Hall Press (1991) and Nutrition &You, Pearson/Benjamin Cummings (2008). She currently is co-authoring a second nutrition textbook to be published in 2010.  She is also a consultant for the restaurant industry.
